Private by design

Tideline was built so that trusting it never has to be a leap. This page is the whole story — short, because there isn't much to tell when nothing leaves your phone.

Effective date: July 6, 2026

What Tideline keeps — on your device only

Tideline stores the following information in a private database inside the app, on your phone:

  • Weigh-ins and daily check-ins. Your weights and optional hunger, energy, soreness, and workout notes.
  • Cycle dates. Period start dates you log, used only to place you in your cycle and read your own patterns.
  • Preferences. Units, cycle length, reminder time — small settings stored alongside your entries.

That's the complete list. Tideline does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any device identifiers.

What never happens

  • No account. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no profile of you anywhere.
  • No uploads. Tideline has no server. Your entries are never transmitted, synced to a cloud, or seen by us.
  • No tracking or ads. No analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no third-party code watching how you use the app.
  • Never sold. Cycle data is sensitive. It is not shared with or sold to anyone, in any form, ever.

Optional connections

Three things can involve systems outside the app, and every one of them is under your control:

  • Apple Health. If you turn on sync, weigh-ins and period dates are exchanged with the Health app entirely on your device. You choose exactly what to allow, and you can revoke it anytime in the Health app. Health data handled through HealthKit is governed by Apple's terms and is never used for advertising.
  • Purchases. Tideline Premium is handled by the App Store. Apple processes payment; Tideline only learns whether your subscription is active — never your name or card. Apple's handling of purchase information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Diagnostics. If your phone records a crash, the report is kept on-device and sent only if you choose to share it. It describes the app's behavior, never your health data.

Your controls

  • Export. Download everything as a CSV file from Settings whenever you like.
  • Erase. "Delete all data" in Settings permanently removes every entry from this device. Because Tideline keeps no copies anywhere, deletion is immediate and complete — there is nothing for us to delete on a server, because there is no server.

Backups

One honest footnote: like any app, Tideline's data is included in your phone's normal iCloud or computer backup, protected by Apple's backup encryption and under your control in iOS Settings.

Children

Tideline is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Not medical advice

Tideline offers general guidance about weight and cycle patterns. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult a healthcare professional for medical concerns.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Because the app collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare and minor.
